А что-очень может быть! :good:

Хотя в MYB подтверждается участие военнослужащих только King's Regiment,но в ВИКИ есть упоминание об усилении последних подразделениями King's and Cheshire Regiment.

NORTHWICH'S Territorial Army soldiers are preparing to join the relief operation in Iraq.

Twenty six soldiers from D Company of the King's and Cheshire Regiment (KCR), based at the TA Centre in Darwin Street, Castle, have been mobilised for deployment to the Gulf next month.

The details of their mission have yet to be finalised, but their most likely destination is southern Iraq, where UK forces are working on Operation Telic, following the overthrowing of Saddam Hussein's regime.

The TA men will go to a mobilisation centre in Nottingham at the end of the month for training, before deployment in June as part of phase two of the operation.

They are likely to support regular Army troops from the First Battalion The King's Regiment, also going to Iraq next month.

The exact number of Northwich TA soldiers heading to the Gulf is not confirmed as those called up must first undergo medicals. The final names will be known in a few weeks, but 26 men from D Company, which also has a base in Crewe, have received provisional mobilisation orders.

Providing they pass medical tests, they'll form part of a 130-plus KCR contingent.

Most of the men called up are privates and lance corporals, as these are the ranks required by the regular Army.

'It's a fantastic opportunity for the individuals that are going and also for the TA and the regiment in general,' said Major Simon Wildgoose, the off icer commanding D Company.

'The reserve forces are an integral part of the British Army and our own local KCR men will be part of a high-profile British Army operation.'
