1941 BALKANFELDZUG (Balkan Campaign)

The division transfers to Bulgaria through Hungary and Rumania. Breakthrough through the Metaxaline, Istibei and Kelkaja. Attack on the Belaschiza blocking position and continued attack (vorstoss) to Struma. March along Saloniki-Lamia to Athens. Airborne attack on Crete. The seaborne III/Geb.Jg.Rgt 100 is completely destroyed. Battles for the Maleme Airfield. Attack on the western part of the island. Occupation of Chania. Battles for the Episkopi Heights and in the areas of Galatas, Sula, Rethymnon ans Sfakia.
